None of the work we do would be possible without the help of our dedicated community volunteers! Wopida tanka, immeasurable thanks, to our 455 volunteers in 2022!

Volunteer Opportunities

Wakáŋ Tipi Park Stewards

If you or a group regularly visit Wakáƞ Tipi, consider becoming a park steward! Park Stewards work with the City of St. Paul to support general maintenance of the sanctuary, such as picking up visible trash and reporting graffiti, tree damage, or other park concerns.

Restore! Participant

Join us in caring for the lands, waters, plants, and animal relatives of Wakáƞ Tipi by lending a helping hand at our habitat restoration events. Each spring, summer, and fall you can take part in various activities to limit the spread of displaced plant relatives (invasive species) and encourage the growth of Native plants that are close to the hearts of Dakota people.

2024 Restore! dates and registration will be posted in the spring!

Restore! Volunteer Supervisor

If you would be interested in leading restoration activities, become a Volunteer Supervisor! Restoration Supervisors work closely with St. Paul Parks and Recreation and Lower Phalen Creek Project staff to guide restoration events and demonstrate how to lovingly care for the land.

Rivoli Bluffs indigenous Medicine Garden

Build your connections to the land and plant medicines by contributing to the regular upkeep of our Rivoli Bluffs Medicine Garden. Opportunities include scheduled watering, routine weeding, and participating in planting events.
